VINTAGE GARDEN PARTY
In these uncertain times it’s looking like small and intimate weddings are going to be the way forward, for a while at least. So I wanted to bring my style, ideas and sustainable ethos into an intimate setting and show that a smaller more understated day can still be beautiful and unique. And so the Vintage Garden Party was born! A wedding for 24 people set in a beautiful private garden in the village of Draycott, Derbyshire.

Being sustainable and thinking about the environment and our impact on it is very important to me and so I try and make sure that this comes across in everything I do. I love re-using and re-purposing things and all of my props and tableware are vintage and secondhand pieces sourced from local antique shops, charity shops and car boot sales. I also try and use local suppliers wherever possible.
The table linen for this shoot was all made from natural fibres and hand dyed with natural dyes. The wedding dress was handmade by a local dressmaker using vintage fabrics and the flowers were all sourced locally from ethical growers, the foliage foraged from the local areas, the bouquet was hand tied, and no foam was used in the arrangements.
The stationary was designed and produced by a local stationary designer and printed onto recycled paper. The afternoon tea was all homemade and the favours were edible. No plastic was used in this shoot at all.
This beautiful intimate set-up shows that you can have the wedding of your dreams with your close family and friends without breaking the bank or harming the environment.
